Nathan | 1 Month Photos

I went to High School with Christina and Jason and hadn't seen them in years!  This is another perk of the job, you get to see people you have lost touch with and find out what is going on in their lives.  I went to their house which is really close to me and they had so many pictures on the wall, I got to see their wedding and pictures after Nathan was born.  He is SUCH a cutie with so much hair! The weather was not on our side this day, and of course the day before it was 60 and sunny!  We did get a couple outdoors-y ones though! I had a great time and it was so good to see you guys again. I hope you like your sneak peek! ;)

This hat is so cute!

Sticking his tongue out, I love it! haha

This is probably the best face you can make wearing a Lions outfit :D

Lost or Found?

Sorry I have been MIA lately.  I have some things going on in my life right now that make it a little hard to write. It is hard for me to write about my feelings, or write very well at all (let's be honest).  I had always been lost in life, which direction was I was heading?  I had always been a romantic and was never worried about my love life, all I thought about was boys. It is scary not knowing what you are supposed to be doing with your life.  When I finally figure out what I want to do, it is probably one of the best feelings. Every time I am done with a shoot and put my clients photos up, it is like a high.  It is so fulfilling to see that I create memories people can hold on to.  I am very thankful that I found my path, careerwise. It is hard having your own business, I have even had one of my best friends tell me that is all I care about anymore, instead of being happy for me. If you find something you want to do, and it is MY business, in order to make it work I have to work at it 200%. Even though it is stressful and I am really hard on myself at times, I am happy I am doing it.  It seems though that ever since I have started, even though this is 100% what I want to do, I find things around me falling apart.  Like I said before, ALL I cared about was boys, and this is the first time in my life... I am focusing on ME.  Because of this, I am now lost in love, and left with a broken heart.  Here is a quote from one of my favorite movies, when I heard it, it made me want to cry because it is exactly how I feel. Since I am not good with coming up with a way of saying how I feel, this is it...in love and life...at this moment.

"Do you ever put your arms out and spin really fast?
Well that is what love is like, it makes your heart race, and turns the world upside down. But if you're not careful and keep your eyes on something still, you can lose your balance. You can't see what's happening to the people around you. You can't see that you're about to fall."

Right now I just have to trust that things will work out the way they are supposed to.  And I have to believe what's meant to be, will be.   And for those of you that are waiting for your CD, I am a little behind because I have been sick but will have them to you as soon as I can. I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving.

Brystol & Kylie | 3 Month Photos

You might remember the twins I had taking their photos a little while ago with some of the bluest eyes I have ever seen.  Well their mom is friends with Keri, another mom to some cute twin girls! They knew eachother from Western, I realized Kristin was in my dorm when I went to her house and then I get an email from Keri saying she heard about me from Kristin, and get this...we worked together in Kzoo at Mongolian bbq!!  It is such a small world, Mongo was where Keri met the love of her life...Brad. Keri didn't know for a while that she was having twins. The day she found out her doctor told her she had something to tell her...which is NOT cool and scared the crap out of Keri.  She pointed to 2 circles and said those are two babies, you are having 2 girls! Brad and Keri were so surprised but couldn't wait to welcome their 2 baby girls into this crazy small world. I have friends that are twin girls, they are so incredibly close and share that bond that no one else experiences...unless you're twins. I think that is so cool and those girls are always going to be there for each other and go through every life experience together.  I was so thrilled when Keri asked me to take their 3 month photos, I could not wait to meet them! Keri you have such an adorable family and I am so glad I met them and it was good to see you again! I hope you like your sneak peek ;)

Their dog...Blue! The biggest dog I have ever seen but so sweet!

Beautiful Mamma!

Cozy Cap Creations made an appearance....and Brad got these bc he loves U of M!

I love this one, they are holding hands! So adorable :)

Chris + Laura | Engagement

I met Chris and Laura on a day that was not so nice, but we toughed it out and by mid shoot the sun was setting, the clouds broke up and it was beautiful out! Laura's brother is one of my best friends and told her about my work and her and her teddy bear decided to take a chance on me :D I have known Laura for over a decade now and she is definitely a beautiful person, inside and out! I had only met Chris briefly before the shoot but he is definitely a sweet guy with some of the most beautiful baby blues I have ever seen! I had so much fun roaming around Cranbrook with you guys and I hope you like your sneak peek. Can't wait to get some fun ones downtown too! ;)

This one is my FAVE, so cute :)

Ok now there is his non shy smile! :D

Laura trying to be seductive but Chris thought it was funny! ;)

Lisa Rose + Jonny | Engagement

Lisa Rose...what can I say, she is the bubbliest/craziest/sweetest person you will EVER meet. I have never met anyone so happy and she looks at the bright side of everything. When I first met Lisa we were both lost puppies starting Aveda. She is like me and has done a million things before she landed on her passion.  My realization was a step after this though ;)  Not only was she lost in her career but she was lost in love...until she met Jonny.  I remember her telling us all about him and looking at some photos they had taken in a photo booth. He works at Weber Grill downtown and this is where they first met. I was lucky to get a meal there and meet Jonny and I could really see how much he ADORES Lisa. He is such a sweet guy and these two fit together like glue. I am so lucky you found your prince charming, you deserve it.  The day they will never forget starting like this...they were on a horseback ride when the tour guide said "and this is the part when Jon asks Lisa to marry him" and that was that.  I am sooo happy for you guys and so glad I took your pics, I hope you had fun and it was sooo good to see you. Love you two!

Now THIS is Lisa! ;)

Chuck + Kelly | Engagement

So I was lucky to have not only 1 shoot in Chicago but 3!! My first one I booked was with my good friends Chelsea and Joe, and since I was already coming out I hoped to book more!  Kelly is actually one of Chelsea's friends who recently got engaged.  She had emailed me and apologized for it being short notice but I was thrilled!!!!  I have met Kelly a couple times and she is super nice and I so envy her freckles ;) We met at North Ave Beach and had fun walking around the city(possibly being arrested for trespassing), plus Mother Nature was definitely on my side the whole time I was there! It was so good to meet you Chuck and see you Kelly!  I am so excited for you  two and I hope you like your Sneak Peek ;)

My favorite, this pic cracks me up! ha

Did I mention the light was PERFECT!!

Happy Friday!
