The Brides Project

THE BRIDES PROJECT MISSION: To provide brides with a socially-concious, budget and eco-friendly option for purchasing a bridal gown, and use these proceeds at the cancer support community of greater Ann Arbor for people touched by cancer.

I visited the Brides project for the first time with one of my best friends, who ended up buying a beautiful lace gown. Not only was the dress a great deal, but 100% of her purchase went to the Cancer Support Community, and changed someone's life in some way. The people that work there were also a breath of fresh air, and one of the kindest ladies I have ever met helped us out. Beth Kelley who was a cancer survivor herself, and was told 15 years ago she only had 2 months to live, is the manager of the store.  She has a great story and is passionate about what she does, and it definitely shows in her work.

I became a fan of The Brides Project on facebook, and one day they asked if anyone would want to volunteer to help with their marketing team. At the time, one of my close relatives was suffering from cancer, and actually passed away a couple weeks ago. This made me want to get involved 100%, and I know that cancer has touched everyone's life one way or another. I met with them and we decided that I would be co-chair for the photography portion of it. I want to help create as much awareness to this as possible. They are having a spring sale right now, and I wanted to showcase some of the great dresses they offer. They have an AMAZING selection. Some of the dresses are super classic and vintage, that you wouldn't be able to find anywhere else, and they look brand new!  They also carry some great designer dresses, I saw a Very Wang there, and we all know her dresses are gorgeous! If you were already a bride, you can donate your dress to the brides project, and be part of a great cause.

Oh, and please excuse the background of these images, I tried to work with it as much as possible! ;)

Absolutely LOVE this dress.

They also sell great veils, jewelry, and hair pieces. Every one in these photos you can purchase. :)

Some behind the scenes of our shoot that day :)

The girls trying to be serious ;)

At least it lasted long enough for me to snap a pic! :D
